Oh my. You're right...
At least Shovel Knight is in the game. He may not be a fighter but at least he's around.
AND WHEN IS WADDLE DEE GONNA BE REVEALED???
Probably next. Almost all of the new characters seem to be ones that fans have been wanting for a long time. B. W. dee seems to be the most requested Kirby character, so if they ARE adding any more fighters, he probably will be revealed. I hope so. I've been waiting since Smash 4 DLC announcements began. Of course, that's just like the K. Rool fans, but I think you get the idea. :-P

Something important (to me at least) about one of the reveals was the Rathalos. Not only will Smash Brothers be able to get their hunting on, not only is Rathalos a series first buuut. It's a boss. On a stage. That stage seeming to be the Ancestral Steppe. Which can, of course, only mean one thing. One very, very important thing. GUILDMARM FOR SMASH CONFIRMED??? Ok, it's probably Doodle, the nickname given to the Hunter from Monster Hunter 4, or just a generic Hunter overall. Although I can totally see the Guildmarm (who was a lady who supplied you with the single-player quests) as assist trophy material. But, either way, something to do with Monster Hunter is showing up, and it probably has something to do with one of the Monster Hunter 3DS games - so the third and fourth generations of the series, from Tri through to the soon-to-be-released-in-the-west Generations Ultimate. I'm counting on four myself because that's the game most associated with the Steppe, being the first hunting ground of that game, first introduced in that game and the site of your epic third showdown with Gore Magala. If there's a stage for it, then presumably there's a character associated with that stage, right? That's usually how it works, as far as I'm aware. So, which Mario character will end up brutalised and/or worse when Doodle gets revealed? I'm betting Bowser, since he's the most Monster-ish. Either he's the target of the Hunter themselves, or losing a fireball contest with the Rathalos. Or perhaps he just gets Frenzied by the Gore Magala that, as I mentioned, you have an epic showdown with in the area. I think we already have too many third party characters. Well, maybe. I'm just calling them as I see them :-P I see a confirmed stage for a third-party franchise, I say there's probably going to be a representative. We've already got two Capcom fighters, so Capcom does have pretty big role in smash right now. And again, there's a new entry (for the west at least) coming out soon. Plus there's the Japanese audience to consider: Monster Hunter is downright MASSIVE in Japan, I'm talking Universal Studios Japan has a dedicated Monster Hunter section, and Capcom considers it one of their big Franchises alongside Street Fighter. In fact, it's a close second to Pokémon. So that community was probably hounding Sakurai and Nintendo to get a representative in Smash since Brawl opened the doors for third-party characters. Or before that even.

I’m just going to admit that I am predicting Skull kid to be added to the roster.

They might go the Inkling/Monster Hunter in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite approach and have them wield multiple weapons for specials and such. It'll either be that or, if they're keeping with the MH4 theme, either the Insect Glaive or the Charge Blade, which were both introduced in that game. Probably the Insect Glaive will be in there, either as part of their specials (Vault seems like it'd be their recovery) or as their only weapon. We don't have any spear fighters yet, to my knowledge, so that'll be a nice change. Plus the Kinsect aspect could really interesting. Charge Blade would be a problem since they don't like switching movesets mid-fight anymore, and that's Charge Blade's gimmick. Also the reach of that axe would make for some truly OP smash attacks. <iframe width="32.48" height="13.3200000000001" id="MoatPxIOPT0_54890079" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -6px; width: 32.48px; height: 13.32px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="32.48" height="13.3200000000001" id="MoatPxIOPT0_30231628" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1555px; top: -6px; width: 32.48px; height: 13.32px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="32.48" height="13.3200000000001" id="MoatPxIOPT0_87171593" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 598px; width: 32.48px; height: 13.32px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="32.48" height="13.3200000000001" id="MoatPxIOPT0_71866943" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1555px; top: 598px; width: 32.48px; height: 13.32px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe>

I kinda like having all these third party characters. It makes this a Nintendo Consoles Crossover, and not just a Nintendo Crossover.
It would be nice if Terra from FFVI was added but that's not gonna happen. :-P I should go continue that game, but I've been re-playing Wind Waker. :-P

lego1999boyathome (Your post glitched out so I have to tag you.) I understand what you’re saying. But do you really think it will be based on MH4U? Wouldn’t Generations be the best choice? Why not a new hunter who combines elements of other games? Though, I think just because they are added a monster hunter boss fight, it doesn’t mean they will add a Monster hunter fighter. Remember the rayman trophies from the last game?

When they were showing it off in it's boss fight form, it was on the Ancestral Steppe - when it shows up you can see the signature red stones that are found in that area, and the characters are running around, so it's a stage of some kind. And after all, a boss fight's gotta appear somewhere :-P . Although it might be one of those stages with a bunch of layouts and backgrounds, so it could well turn out to be a collection stage of multiple areas, which would make more sense if it's based on Generations. Honestly, Generations would be a more sensible choice, it's just that Ancestral Steppe is specifically associated with MH4. I'm mostly just speculating based on what tiny nuggets of information we have.

CHEF KAWASAKI IS IN SMASH NOW?! =O
This is amazing! This is unreal! This is just like winning the lottery, only without the taxes! I mean, this is like falling out of an airplane parachute, and hitting a gaggle of geese in midair who break your fall! =D
Why didn't anybody tell me this sooner? =P

In fact, an Azure Rathalos shows up in the Story of 4U, being attacked by another Monster, a Seregios. And although the Story of Generations barely exists, Rathalos shows up there, in both Regular and Silver forms. Plus, Ancestral Steppe is even one of the regular Rathalos's main habitats.
