I sincerely apologize for being inactive for so long!! Due to the nature of my inactivity, however, I was genuinely unable to announce or explain it beforehand! My computer went through a bunch of updates at about the same time as the LMBE / TBB url change, which resulted in my bookmarks being slightly changed, removing the LMBE / TBB and this place, among others =/
Thankfully, after 2-3 months, I've found them again, meaning I can fully rejoin our discussions! =D
(in particular, Origami King was announced just a few days after the aforementioned incident, meaning I haven't been able to talk about it! I am currently about halfway through the fourth area, and am greatly looking forward to discussing it) Yuck. I can't stand bookmark wipes. Regardless, I'm glad to see you back here! :-D I had a feeling you'd be pleased about PM:TOK. It's really an awesome game. Do you have any favorite parts so far?

I got Origami King, and I'm really liking it! I'm also getting back into ACNH, and I can't wait for future updates. You? Excellent! I already finished Origami King's story, though I haven't 100% it yet. I can tell the ending is tremendous. Glad you like it! (Maybe i should type up a review...) Ah, nice. :-P How does it compare to Sticker Star and Color Splash, and how does it compare to The Thousand Year Door? :-P

I'm glad you have enjoyed it =D I think this fourth area is probably my favorite so far, as I really like most of its mechanics, as well as its setting and references to another Nintendo game I enjoyed ("references" such as the entire plot of the area I guess?). In addition to the large amount of similarities to this other game, I also appreciate the buildup this section had, such as how you get to visit part of it between the second and third areas, and how, technically, it's been foreshadowed since near the beginning of the game.
So, that's most of what I like about the fourth area. Have you had any favorite parts? =) (unless it's a spoiler, or you simply would prefer not to explain)

Waffleboy asked for me to post my personal Mario power ranking way back when, and I thought I'd go ahead and post what I feel to be the top 10 strongest characters in Mario lore. Note that Paper Mario characters will not show up here, due to MAL:PJ seemingly showing it has its own separate world. I don't feel any major villains from the Mario and Luigi series would be able to hit top 10 either, despite how strong some of them were. Let's see who I feel are the 10 mightiest forces in the Mario world.
10: Wario
I suppose everybody's favorite garlic munchin', money makin', foe smashin' fat guy Wario managed to claw onto this list, believe it or not. Wario is fat and has terrible physical condition, but he has displayed impressive power in the past. While his schemes are usually straight up dumb, when he gets his head in the game, he becomes a deadly force. He has scored wins over enemies both ancient and supernatural, notably taking down the Golden Diva in Wario Land 4, a being that destroyed an ancient kingdom. His raw physical power is also backed by his transformations, which enable him to adapt to many scenarios, regardless of how dangerous they are. While he's usually not that intelligent, Wario at his peak is not to be trifled with.
9: Kamek
Bowser's caretaker, right-hand man, and top minion. Kamek's magical abilities are impressive, and he is one of the few forces to defeat Mario and/or Yoshi. He notably blasted Mario at the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy, and we won't discuss his deeds to an island full of Yoshis in Woolly World. To be fair, they were both pretty cheap shots, but it isn't like everybody has the power to do that in the first place. His tactical ability is notable as well, he always stays calm enough to engage proper battle, unlike other Mario foes who are prone to losing it at the first sign of Mario and co. getting past a trap. While he may briefly panic, his ability to quickly make plans and enact them make him a constant force to fear, and a major source behind some of the biggest Bowser battles, literally. :-P
8: Yoshi
The hero responsible for ending many of Kamek's plans, Yoshi also made it onto the list. This green, ever happy bundle of joy and sweetness has been shown to be a capable warrior when called upon. His skills are unique in the world of Mario, and he is likely the most efficient at terminating Bowser's minions, being armed with a tongue half the size of a football field. :-P He is also resourceful, always finding a way to defeat Kamek's numerous traps and souped-up bosses. In fact, I don't think anyone else has defeated so many enhanced foes in the series. His unique immunity to spikes, flutter jumping skills, and experience bashing enemies are enough to give the green machine a well-earned spot on the list.
7: Bowser
Enemy of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario's persistent adversary, and the one who respectfully never throws in the towel no matter how many times the ax is used to drop him into lava. King Koopa's raw physical power is matched by only one force in the series (more on that later.) and it is backed by numerous other skills. Fire breath, some magic ability, and surprising technical know-how give Bowser a diverse playbook, and he's not afraid to get on the battlefield himself and rumble. He also has incredible durability, surviving lava way too many times to count, being crushed way too many times to count, being sucked into a black hole on more than one occasion, etc. However, his plans aren't always the best, and his ego blinds him to certain problems, like battle axes that are right next to the bridge support. He also underestimates any foe that doesn't have a red hat, which has cost him in combats with Luigi, Yoshi, and a few others.
6: Dry Bowser
Dry Bowser is essentially the same as Bowser, but with a few improvements. He's immune to all fire based attacks, a nifty upgrade that throws the classic Fire Flower tactic out the window. He is also gifted with enhanced agility and his fire is not only faster, but is blue. Seriously, how does he shoot fire hot enough to be blue!? He also appears to be smarter, he doesn't underestimate his foes like Bowser does. However, that whole ax at the bridge thing remains, though he certainly does make it harder to get there than his not so bony counterpart.

5: Donkey Kong
Let's get one thing straight. When I say "Donkey Kong," I don't mean the guy who fought Mario back in the arcades. No, I mean Donkey Kong, jungle hero, barrel slammer, Kremling Krusher. Donkey Kong is implied in many spin offs to be the one force with more physical power than Bowser. In fact, it seems he has the most physical power in the entire Mushroom World. On top of all that, the big ape actually has a surprisingly good brain in his head, at least enough to combat the evils he battles. His skills have only improved through time, and his fighting style is now honed and precise. While he's quite happy spending time with his friends, eating bananas, and driving a kart through Mario Circuit, his power is surpassed by only four in my book.
4: Mario
HA! Thought Mario would be number 1? Well, think again! However, Mario's powers are remarkable. His agility is nearly unmatched in the Mushroom World, and he has access to more transformations than anyone else. He is also the most experienced warrior in the entire canon, having battled Bowser's goons numerous times. His durability, skill, intelligence, and sheer power are almost unstoppable, and I feel only three characters are stronger than him. I really don't feel the need to expound on Mario, so I'm going to move on. :-P
3: King Boo
The most powerful force of evil in the Mushroom World, the paranormal big shot, the ever vengeful white ball with teeth, King Boo is number three. King Boo clocks in as possibly being the only force ever to trounce Mario on more than one occasion. His portrait methods are just plain unfair and lack all sense of honor, but you have to give credit where it's due. He's got power. In fact, he has so much power, that he came very, very close to destroying the very fabric of reality in one of his plots. With all his power, it's a shame he uses it for petty means like world destruction and vengeance on a certain someone. However, his thirst for revenge is also a weak spot. He gets so driven with hate and rage, that he often makes really stupid mistakes in his plans, such as leaving a stinkin' laundry chute for Luigi to escape through. He sometimes just forgets all strategy whatsoever and fights, making for easy counter-plays from the force he battles. Furthermore, he is a ghost, which makes him vulnerable to a certain weapon. The tool of his undoing, wielded by the next warrior on the list. It is for these reasons that he misses out on the number two spot, and it instead goes to his arch-enemy.
2: Luigi
The Green Guy, the Great Ghostbuster, the terrified but courageous hero, Luigi is number two. And why shouldn't he be? He's beaten the one foe Mario can't beat: King Boo. Furthermore, his natural abilities without the gifts and tools of Professor E. Gadd already match Mario's. He can jump higher than his brother, and he is just as agile. He's certainly clumsy, goofy, and really easy to scare, but that doesn't matter too much. Luigi is at his best when the world truly needs him. He was the one who stopped King Boo from destroying reality itself, defeating an entire army of ghosts in a matter of minutes to do it. He has defeated the paranormal many times, and has also taken down many of the enemies Mario beats. With his natural abilities and the tools of E. Gadd, Luigi is an easy choice for number two.
1: Rosalina
Queen of the cosmos, guardian of the Lumas, operator of the Comet Observatory. Rosalina is my choice for the most powerful Mario character. She easily possesses the most magical power and skill in the series, even more than King Boo. She also powered up the Comet Observatory, granting it enough power to tank an attack from Bowser's Airship fleet without a scratch. She also appears to have control over gravity itself, countering Bowser's uprooting of Peach's Castle by forming an enormous bridge for Mario to cross. She usually appears to be holding back her full power, unlike King Boo. Our one possible look at her current peak of power was the end of Super Mario Galaxy, where we saw that she also can affect reality, like King Boo. She uses her powers for good, however, and when Bowser's havoc causes a black hole to nearly destroy a sector of the universe, Rosalina steps in and reboots things. However, rather than wipe the slate, she simply restores what was lost with minor, beneficial restructuring, usefully dropping the seemingly dead Mario and co. off at Peach's place with plenty of life and memories of the events that had transpired in the past. This made it where Nintendo dodged a possible plot hole on how exactly Mario and friends wound up back home after nearly being killed by a black hole. In short, her powers make her the strongest in the series, even if she chooses not to use said power very often.
Well, there you have it! My top ten strongest Mario characters. This was really fun to make, and I hope you enjoyed it. What's your opinion? Do you agree or disagree with my ranking? Please feel free to comment on the list. ;-)

How does it compare to Sticker Star and Color Splash, and how does it compare to The Thousand Year Door? I haven't played TTYD or CS, but I can say that it's just as good as SS and the original, likely better. ;-)

Would the game in question being referenced be the one where the hero's sister is captured by a hideous masked bird on his birthday, and he sets sail to save her? :-P I really did enjoy area 4 as well. I would say my favorite parts were the buildup to and final fight of area 2, the core sector of area 4, and the finale sector in area 5, and pretty much all of area 6. :-P

Oh, I haven't even seen your post until now, so it's probably my fault =P Not much really, I can feel the Touhou Project absorbing my life more every day, but I can also feel myself becoming smarter from it =P
Also apparently Nintendo announced a Breath of the Wild prequel in the time I've been gone? =P
